Water damage gets worse by the hour. The faster standing water comes out and the affected materials are dried, the more of your home you keep and the lower the risk of long-term problems. Wit Restoration handles the mitigation phase: we assess the loss, remove the water, and dry the structure back to a documented normal moisture level.
Every job starts with an inspection. We find where the water came from, map how far it spread with moisture meters and thermal imaging, and explain the scope before any work begins. Water travels under flooring and up inside walls further than it looks, so what we can measure matters more than what looks dry on the surface.
From there we extract standing water, remove only the materials that cannot be dried in place, and set the right combination of air movers and dehumidifiers for the conditions. We monitor and record readings each day until the structure meets completion criteria, then hand you the documentation.
Mitigation is the drying and stabilizing phase, not the rebuild. We make that boundary clear up front: we dry and document, and we tell you honestly what repairs or reconstruction will need a separate contractor. If you only want an inspection and moisture assessment, you can request that too.
How it works
Our process
Simple, careful, and clear from start to finish.
- 01
Call & confirm
Tell us the source, where the water is, and current conditions. We confirm availability and get a technician headed your way.
- 02
Inspect & map
We find the source, measure how far moisture has spread, and explain the proposed scope and authorization before starting.
- 03
Extract & remove
We remove standing water and only the materials that cannot be dried in place, keeping demolition to what the drying actually requires.
- 04
Dry & monitor
Air movers and dehumidifiers are set for your conditions and checked daily, with readings recorded until the structure is dry.
- 05
Document & close out
You get the photos, moisture logs, and scope. We review any remaining repair needs so you know exactly what comes next.
